What we do

Community Outreach

Distance, cost and stigma keep many Ugandans away from care. So we take care to them. Our outreach camps set up in parishes, trading centres and community halls, and offer awareness, screening, diagnosis and treatment in a single day.

What we offer

Inside community outreach

  • 01

    Awareness sessions

Plain-language talks on what mental illness looks like, how to spot distress and where to find help.

  • 02

    Screening on the spot

Trained staff screen attendees for common conditions and explain each result one to one.

  • 03

    Diagnosis & medication

Clinicians diagnose where needed, dispense medication on site and explain how to take it.

  • 04

    Follow-up and referral

People who need ongoing care are linked to our clinic or to the nearest suitable service.

How it works

Three simple steps

  1. 1

    Partner with a host

A parish, school, council or community group invites us and gathers residents.

  2. 2

    Camp day

Talks, screening, consultations and treatment, all in one day.

  3. 3

    Return visits

We come back to follow up and to reach the people who missed the first day.

Who it serves

  • Rural and peri-urban communities
  • Faith communities
  • Families caring for a relative
  • Local leaders

Each camp is funded by donors and partners. Your community could be next.
